Let's Work Together

Ready to Get Started?

If you’re ready to explore working together, I’d like to know more about you. Please click the button for a  questionnaire you’ll be able to download as a Word document. Please fill out the form and return it to me at kate@bkjacksonwriter.com along with 10 pages of your work in progress, either as a Word attachment or pasted into the body of an email. Then, if you’d like to talk, click the button at the bottom of this page and schedule your free consultation. We can spend a little time together so I’ll know more about your project and concerns and be able to answer any questions you may have.

And if you’re already prepared to commit to working together, download and complete the form and return it to me. Include in your message when you expect your materials to be ready for my review, and we’ll take it from there.

NOTES ON THE PROCESS

When we commit to working together, I’ll send an agreement for you to sign and return that details our understanding of the work to be done, the agreed-upon start-time; the schedule of deadlines, and the fees.

Once you ask me to block out time for your work, I’ll ask for a $250 nonrefundable deposit in order to save that time on my schedule. (Excluded from this requirement are single coaching sessions and query edits.)

For single services, for example a manuscript evaluation or a developmental edit, I’ll send an invoice for full payment due at the time you submit your copy.

For packages with multiple deadlines, I’ll divide the fee among the sessions and send invoices for payments due before each deadline.

I’ll ask that you submit your copy as a Microsoft Word document and I’ll return edits on Word documents with tracked changes so you’ll see exactly what’s been done and have the ability to accept or reject any changes.

Your documents should be formatted to industry standards, using a 12-point Times New Roman font and one-inch margins all around. If your copy is not formatted in that way, I’ll reformat before I begin work.

For coaching clients:

I open my schedule for coaching calls Friday afternoons. If that doesn’t work for you schedule, let’s talk and I’ll try to accommodate you.

Your copy will be due to me by end of day on Friday of  the week preceding our coaching call.
