From Getting Started to Pitching
Coaching Packages
The best time to begin a coaching partnership is at the beginning, before you’ve begun writing and are still hashing out your ideas. But we can work together at whatever stage you’re in to address your unique problems, whether those are getting started, homing in on what to write about, refining your idea, finding an effective structure, getting unstuck, regaining your momentum, or revising and polishing your copy.
I offer packages that can guide you all the way from generating and developing your ideas to submitting your book for publication and beyond. If you don’t find something here that suits your needs, let’s talk.
Get Started
Based on Author Accelerator’s “Blueprint for a Book,” this four-session package helps you clarify your purpose, refine your idea, pinpoint your target audience, and construct your book’s scaffolding. I’ll provide a template you’ll use to create your table of contents, a concise and compelling overview, book cover copy, and more. You’ll turn in one section during each of four sessions.
Keep Going
Perhaps you have a vague idea or a tentative outline for your project but you need help moving forward and maintaining momentum. I’ll motivate you to show up and do your best work, encouraging you to silence all the voices—internal and external—that make you doubt yourself or derail your intentions. Together, we’ll work on whatever it takes to help you cross the finish line to a completed book.
Make Your Case
An impeccable proposal is key both to attracting an agent and enticing a publisher. It’s also a key marketing tool for all nonfiction book authors, whether they aim to publish traditionally or independently. It’s your book’s calling card your one shot to capture the attention of busy, overworked agents who need a compelling reason to read beyond your first paragraph.
Perfect Your Query
You have fewer than 400 words to capture the attention of an agent or publisher. With a sharp, tightly focused query and a compelling proposal, you’ll be ready to confidently pitch your work to agents, editors, and publishers.
Get Ready to Submit
In addition to helping with query development and refinement, this package will help you better understand the marketplace, create a targeted list of agents, develop a comprehensive strategy for pitching your book.
For Everything Else
For everything else—when you have questions or need help with specific problems about any aspect of your book project, from writing to pitching—you can book a single Zoom or Zoom + editorial feedback session or a series of monthly sessions.
